Queen of Fairies III

In a realm of shadows deep, Where secrets dwell and fairies creep, A queen of fairies, fierce and wild, Yearns for a mortal's changeling child.

A babe of innocence, pure and fair, A prize so rare, beyond compare, To swap with one of her own brood, A wicked deed, misunderstood.

By night, she ventures to their home, Where mortals sleep, and dreams do roam, She cradles the child with soft intent, Whispers promises, never meant.

The fae babe left in human stead, With mortal kin, to rest its head, A life of mystery and strife, Of human love and mortal life.

The stolen child, now in her care, Learns magic from the twilight air, A pawn within her grand design, A treasure to forever bind.

A mother's heart, now torn asunder, For in her dreams, she hears the thunder, Of fae queen's laugh, so cold and shrill, A mother's love, now held at will.

In the balance of worlds, she plays, The changeling child, a tool to sway, The mortal realm, forever changed, As fairy and human fates rearranged.

So heed the tales of old and wise, Of changeling child and fairy's prize, For in the shadows, ever near, The queen of fairies waits, to steal what's dear.
